Abstract
Tujuan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan dampak globalisasi, kecanduan internet terhadap kualitas keluarga, dilihat dari karakter remaja, yaitu kemandirian, integritas dan religiusitas. Penelitian merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif menggunakan wawancara. Subyek penelitian remaja yang telah berkeluarga berusia di bawah 24 tahun untuk laki-laki dan 21 tahun untuk perempuan. Subjek penelitian adalah tiga puluh satu remaja berasal dari enam kecamatan di Yogyakarta. Teknik analisis data mengacu konsep model Miles dan Huberman, yaitu interactive model. Penelitian menunjukkan data mengenai intensitas remaja yang memanfaatkan gadget sebagai media dalam mencari informasi, hiburan keluarga. Perlu diwaspadai Gadget yang tidak menyebabkan ketergantungan pada pasangan, memunculkan ketergantungan pada anak dari pasangan. Temuan penelitian menjadi penting karena globalisasi dalam hal ini kecanduan internet memiliki dua sisi yaitu positif dan negatif. Jika tidak digunakan secara bijak, dapat menimbulkan berbagai masalah terkait masalah kecanduan internet. Data penelitian dapat digunakan sebagai landasan dalam menentukan intervensi lebih lanjut terkait kecanduan internet dan kualitas keluarga.
