Perbedaan Pengaruh Empati terhadap Perilaku Bystander Bullying Siswa di Indonesia dan Malaysia

Abstract


Bullying menjadi salah satu kasus dengan angka yang terus meningkat setiap tahunnya di Indonesia dan Malaysia. Empati sebagai faktor yang mempengaruhi perilaku bystander bullying memberikan peran besar terputusnya rantai bullying. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pengaruh empati terhadap perilaku bystander bullying di Indonesia dan Malaysia. Penelitian dilakukan di SMP Negeri 8 Semarang, Indonesia dan di Sekolah Menengah Agama Bugisiah, Malaysia pada bulan Januari – April 2024. Sampel siswa di dapat menggunakan metode cluster random sampling dari masing – masing negara. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian menggunakan angket dan di bagikan kepada responden yang terpilih. Data yang di dapat di analisis menggunakan SPSS dengan uji regresi linier sederhana kemudian dibandingkan hasil analisisnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak terdapat pengaruh signifikan (P<0,05) antara empati dengan perilaku bystander di Indonesia dan Malaysia. Akan tetapi, terdapat perbedaan pada peningkatan empati di Indonesia yang diiringi oleh penurunan perilaku bystander, sedangkan peningkatan empati di Malaysia diiringi oleh peningkatan perilaku bystander. Hal ini dapat terjadi karena sistem sekolah dengan upaya penanganan bullying yang berbeda dan perbedaan kultur budaya.
