Abstract


Research and development activities for rice farming are currently carried out on the application of the tabela system using planting aid media from biological materials in the form of organic planting tape (OPT). Water hyacinth stems and banana midribs are known to have good fibre and nutrients for cultivated plants, so they are good for use as materials for making OPT. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the area and thickness of organic planting tape on the growth of rice plants in terms of stem height and number of tillers, and rice production in terms of panicle length and dry weight of rice. The study used a faktorial randomized block design with OPT Area (L) as a factor consisting of L1:15x15 cm, L2:20x20 cm, L3:25x25 cm, L4:30x30 cm, and L5:35x35 cm. The Thickness Factor (T) consists of T1:0 mm, T2:8 mm, T3:10 mm, T4:12 mm, and T5:14 mm. The experiment was 6 times, so there were 150 treatment units. Based on the analysis, it is known from the results of the BNJ test that OPT with an area of 35 cm and a thickness of 14 mm in presenting the effect of treatment on data on the growth and production of rice plants.
